Profile
What we know for sure is that as we age, physical function declines. The reason? Loss of muscle strength. In fact, each decade after 50, we can lose as much as 15% of our muscle strength and as much as 30% per decade after the age of 70.
But, research funded by the National Institute on Aging published in The New England Journal of Medicine provides additional evidence that physical therapy can reduce and even prevent the functional decline of frail elderly individuals who receive a program designed to improve their balance, strength, and movement.
It is for this reason that we have made certain that our Physical Therapists are fully trained to work with seniors to protect their body, build and maintain critical muscle strength, and to stay safe and strong.
So, whether you are recovering from illness or general surgery in addition to orthopedic surgeries like total joint replacements and spinal surgery, working with our Specialists is the perfect way to stay strong, agile, and healthy for years to come. We combine strength and balance training together in a program perfectly tailored to meet your body, lifestyle and health needs.
